Museum TRIP- CHANGE OF DATE Dear Parents/Caregivers
Please note that there has been a change of date for our trip to the museum. We are now going on Friday the 8th of April. Important Details How? The day out will cost $8.00 per child.
In order to make this trip happen we
require parent help. If you can help please fill out and return the slip on the right. When? On Friday the 8th of April, we will be leaving school at 9.30am so helpers please ensure you are here to school around 9.00am. We will have two 1 hour sessions ( literacy and 1 drama) with a half hour morning tea break. We hope to finish at the museum around 12.30 and travel to Pirana Park for a picnic. What? Please bring the

WELCOME TO TERM 1 2011 Dear Students, Parents, Caregivers and Whanau
Welcome to Room 4!
I hope you have all had a wonderful break over summer and are just as excited as I am to start term 1 of 2011!
This term we will be exploring the following: Inquiry: Who are we and what makes us special? Maths: Statistics, Number and Algebra Literacy: What a good reader does/ What a good writer does (recounts) Health: Cyber safety PE: Swim safety ICT: Using and contributing to our wiki, using Microsoft Word and Publisher. Arts: Exploring Music and Visual Arts.
Starting a new year is an exciting and busy time, here is some information about life in Room 4:
Swimming: We will be swimming everyday (depending on the weather) so please remind your child to bring their togs and towel each day. Hats: Please ensure your child has got a school hat to wear each day. Water: Students are more than welcome to bring a bottle of water to keep in the classroom to stay hydrated. Library: Our library session is on Monday mornings– please remind your child to return their books each week. Homework: Homework sheets will be given out weekly– this will include a combination of spelling, maths, reading, and a topic focus. Please support your child in completing this as we settle into routines.
Please feel free to contact me or come and see me in Room 4. I am really looking forward to working with you and your child this year as we work towards achieving our goals.
